Move from a group to an island
An archipelago can help you remember its individual islands. Check the name you submit against the actual prompt and bank; the name of a group is not automatically interchangeable with one of its members.
Pay attention to the water
An ocean restriction narrows which island entries are eligible. The scope is part of the question, so a recognised island can still be the wrong answer for that round.
Size does not set the score
Physical size can be a condition in a prompt, but it is not the obscurity measure. The rarity comparison uses English Wikipedia views for all entries in the island category.
Three places to start with
| Place | Obscurity | Dig |
|---|---|---|
| Île Amsterdam ↗ | 10% | 15.0 m |
| Vihamanaafushi ↗ | 55% | 82.5 m |
| Great Island (Falkland Islands) ↗ | 88% | 132.0 m |
These percentages are calculated from the game’s stored pageview data, using the same code as your dig. They are not live visitor counts or the percentage of players who know an answer.
Examples fit the unrestricted category. A round with extra conditions may need a different answer. Read the full scoring method.
