Start inland
Imagine a region and look for the water within it. Thinking of connected lakes or a landscape you have visited often produces more options than trying to list the largest lakes on Earth.
Names can be misleading
An entry’s category matters more than whether its everyday name contains “lake” or “sea”. The bank includes the Caspian Sea as a lake, for example. Check the category and any extra condition before submitting.
Keep a second answer ready
You cannot reuse the same entry in the same category during one dig. If lakes return later, an alternative name for the same lake will still count as a duplicate.
Three places to start with
| Place | Obscurity | Dig |
|---|---|---|
| Sayram Lake ↗ | 10% | 15.0 m |
| Saratov Reservoir ↗ | 55% | 82.6 m |
| Boulder Lake (New Zealand) ↗ | 88% | 132.3 m |
These percentages are calculated from the game’s stored pageview data, using the same code as your dig. They are not live visitor counts or the percentage of players who know an answer.
Examples fit the unrestricted category. A round with extra conditions may need a different answer. Read the full scoring method.
